Specifications of Battery tester  BT300

There are 3 Basic features in this battery tester. This tester is designed to check starting power of 12-volt automotive batteries. This tester checks the output of a charger and  can check the short-circuit wire connection.

A. Starting Power Test:

1. Select right position on the dial knob that matches your battery type or battery series number with right capacity:

Battery capacity: (30,40,50,100,120,150,200) in blue letter

Type number:  (12N1S,12N24,NS40,NS40Z...) in Red letters

3. Upon pushing and hold the test button for over 5 seconds, please check the color under the deflected meter needle when the 5 seconds have passed.

Color signal Starting Power Necessary Treatment
Green Good Ready to use in good condition
Yellow Uncertain Charging is preferred, some critical batteries does not provides good power
Red Not Good 1. Prompt charging is necessary

2. When retesting after charging also gives Red signal, bad connection or damage in battery may exit. Faulty battery despite good connection may likely have internal short circuitry, excess sulfating and or has done its time.

Replace the battery immediately.

Attention:

1. Use clip to clamp on the terminals, do not push the testing button hard to avoid possible open circuit voltage.

2. At the beginning of pushing button, the meter will give a little better capacity than it should be, hold the button for 5 seconds to have a proper reading.

3. Do not push the button over 5 seconds and do not make the test repeatedly, otherwise, the battery may damage the tester.

4. If the needle does not move, check the connection before you do anything else.

B. Out put Voltage test of Charge Dynamo

Caution : This test can not test 24 volts batteries.

1. Connect the test cable to the terminals of the battery and make sure you have a right polarity connection.

2. Check the tester needle after idling the engine for several minutes. Measured value will give you the output of the charger dynamo power. Compare the value with the regulated data in the book about this battery , you will know if the charger is working properly.

C: Check the short-circuit in wirings

1. Turn off all switches in your vehicle, then remove the lead wire from the terminal of the battery. If the removal is at position terminal, connect the red clip to the battery position terminal.

2. Any deflection of the meter needle indicates possible short-circuitry in wirings or some switches left in turned-on.
